I read today about poor Oona Robertson and her debilitating migraines. I was a migraine sufferer beginning June 8, 1987 when I was in a car wreck. These migraines were monthly occurrences for several years, until I began taking the triptan drugs Imitrex, Zomig, etc.
Gradually, my migraines increased from about three days per month to about five days per week. It turns out the triptans may cause rebound headaches.
I was concerned about all the pharmaceuticals I was taking. I met an acupuncturist who was able to completely relieve me of a migraine while it was occurring! This is unheard of in Western medicine, where the emphasis is on pharmaceutical treatments and experiments. The acupuncturist was able to get me off my dependence on the triptans, and has guided me to be able to manage my headaches with only occasional need for follow-up.
